Deregistering because you are moving abroad requires you to present yourself in person at the counter of the Residents’ Register Office with an official ID document.
There is no charge if deregistration takes place in person at the counter.
The charge for sending the certificate of origin in the case of an online registration (only for swiss citizen) is CHF 23.00.

Foreign nationals seeking deregistration are also required to present themselves in person at the Register Office counter. Please bring your passport and foreign national identity card(s) with you. The charge for confirmation of deregistration is CHF 12.00.
If the departure involves the whole family, all we require is one notification. Persons who are not married must complete one form each.
Verfahren
Residents with no certificate of origin:
You will need a certificate of origin to register at your new place of residence. This identification document may be obtained from the Civil Register Office of your municipality of residence. It costs CHF 30.00 excluding postage.
Citizens of Lucerne, Malters, Meggen, Schwarzenberg, Weggis, Vitznau and Greppen may obtain the document from the Lucerne Regional Civil Register Office.

The charge for sending the certificate of origin by post is CHF 23.00. The invoice will be enclosed with the certificate.
